# An intro and a first project for newcomers

> New users go through a short intro, sign-up, a choice between a pack and the free start, and make their first project right away.

Getting started with Slicer is now easier. New users go through a short path:

1.  **Intro** — four slides about what Slicer does: editing raw footage, three cuts from the director, captions and camera, the editor and publishing.
2.  **Sign-up** — with email and password or with VK ID, Google and Apple.
3.  **Free start or a pack** — the first project is free, and a pack can be bought right away or later in Balance.
4.  **First project** — what to prepare and a button that opens the New project wizard.

The onboarding step is stored in the account: if you start on your phone and continue in the browser, Slicer will not show what you have already done. Users who signed up earlier do not see the onboarding.

We also launched slicer.media with an overview of features and prices — from there you can go straight to sign-up.
