# 1. Sign-up and intro

> The first tutorial step — getting to know Slicer, creating an account, choosing the free start instead of a pack and moving on to your first project.

Slicer greets newcomers with a short intro, then helps you create an account, offers a token pack and leads you to your first project. You do not need to buy anything: your first reel is free.

## The intro

On your first visit you see three slides about what Slicer does: editing raw footage, captions and camera motion, the editor and publishing.

-   **Next** — the next slide; on the last one it is **Start for free**.
-   **Skip** — straight to sign-up.
-   **Sign in** in the top right corner — if you already have an account.

**Web**

Switch slides with **Next**, the `←` `→` keys, the mouse wheel, a swipe or the dots under the illustration.

**iPhone and iPad**

Switch slides with a swipe or **Next**; a light haptic tap marks each slide change.

## Your account

### 1. Fill in the form

On the **Create your account** screen, enter your email and a password — **At least 8 characters**. Accept the terms of service and privacy policy and tap **Sign up**.

Instead of email you can tap **Continue with VK ID**, **Continue with Google** or **Continue with Apple** — then no code is needed, go to the next section.

### 2. Verify your email

Enter the six-digit code from the email and tap **Confirm**. No email? Check your spam folder or tap **Send again**.

> **Note.** Already have an account? Tap **Already have an account? Sign in** — sign in, and Slicer continues from the step where you left off.

## The free start

The **Welcome to Slicer!** screen shows the **Free start** card: one project, one cut of the reel, a “Slicer” watermark. Below are the token packs, the same as in **Balance**.

For this tutorial, tap **Try for free**. You can buy a pack any time later — and then your first reel is re-rendered without the watermark for free. More — [Tokens, packs and the free reel](https://docs.slicer.media/en/guide/pricing/).

> **Note.** If the free reel on this email has already been used, there is no **Free start** card and the button says **Later**. You will need a pack for the montage.

## Your first project

The **Let’s make your first reel** screen briefly shows the three wizard steps and what to prepare. Tap **Create first project** — the **New project** wizard opens. The **Edit it myself — free** link under the button creates a project without the AI director ([A project without AI](https://docs.slicer.media/en/guide/projects/manual/)).

Want to look around first? Tap **Look around first**. You will land in **Projects**, where **New project** → **With the AI director** opens the wizard.
