Library: every preset in one panel

Color and LUTs, effects, transitions, animations, title styles, elements and sounds in one panel — click to apply at the playhead or drag onto a clip.

On this page

The Library gathers all of the editor's styling in one place: color and LUTs, effects, transitions, animations, title styles, elements and sounds. No need to look for a tool in the selected clip's set — pick a preset and it goes on the clip at the playhead, or at the playhead itself.

Open it with the Library button in the main tool set. It's an editor mode, like Elements and Media: go back with “‹ Timeline”.

The demo will appear here

Step 1 of 5

Step 1 of 5
  1. Put the playhead on the second clip and click “Library”
  2. Sections are on the left, “To clip 2” and its time are above the tiles
  3. Click “Golden hour” — the second clip warms up
  4. Open “Transitions” and drag “Fade” onto the third clip on the strip
  5. Open “Sounds” and click “Whoosh” — a ♪ mark appears on the elements track at the playhead

Where a preset goes

There are two kinds of presets — the caption above the tiles always tells you where the selected one will go:

  • To a clip — color, effects, transitions, animations and your own LUTs. A click puts the preset on the clip at the playhead: “To clip 2 · 00:05–00:09”. Color strength and transition or animation length stay as they were if the clip already had them.
  • At the playhead — title styles, elements and sounds: “Goes at 00:07 — at the playhead.”

You see the result in the preview right away: a transition plays from just before the cut, an out animation near the end of the clip, an effect and an in animation from its start. Each click is one undo step.

You can drag a tile with the mouse right onto the timeline strip. A clip preset goes on the clip where you let go, and a title, element or sound goes at that point of the reel. On a wide screen the Library opens to the right of the preview, with the strip visible below.

Each tool has its own guide: color and LUTs, effects, transitions, animations, titles, elements.

Title styles

A style is a ready-made title design: font, size, colors, background, position in the frame and animations. A new title appears with the text “Your text” and opens for editing right away.

Style What it looks like
ChapterDark text on a yellow rounded background in the lower third, typed out letter by letter
HeadlineLarge white text with an outline and shadow at the top of the frame
QuoteA light font on a dark box in the center
CaptionSmall text at the bottom left — for a name, place or date
Call to actionDark text on a turquoise background at the bottom
MinimalMonospaced text with a shadow in the center

If a title is selected on the strip, the style changes its design and keeps the text.

Sounds

Sounds are short accents you place yourself: Whoosh, Pop, Ding, Click, Swipe, Riser, Boom and Chime. The ▶ button on a tile plays it.

  • A sound goes at the playhead and shows as a ♪ mark on the elements track, in the emoji row.
  • Click or tap the mark — playback, Replace sound and Delete appear below.
  • You can move the mark: with the mouse on the web, with a long press in the app.
  • A sound is tied to its place in the footage: trim or reorder clips and it moves with them.
  • Sounds you place always play — even if the AI's sound effects are turned off in the montage settings.
  • A reel holds up to 60 sounds of your own.

My presets

My presets are your LUTs: imported .cube files and ones saved from a clip's color. Here too are Import .cube and Save as LUT — the color of the clip at the playhead becomes a new LUT. Your LUTs are available in every project of your account. More in Color: your own LUTs.

Good to know

  • Everything in the Library is free and doesn't spend tokens.
  • The Library doesn't replace the clip panels: the same presets are in Filters, LUT, Effects, Transitions and Animations — with strength, length and Apply to all clips.
  • If the playhead is past the end of the reel, the preset goes on the last clip.
