Help in the app

How to open Slicer help right in the web app and the app: “?” in the header, “How does this work?” in sheets, search across all the docs.

On this page

All of this documentation is available right inside Slicer — no need to leave for the site. Help opens where you're working and goes straight to the right article: from the editor's “+” sheet — about tracks and inserts, from the Speed panel — about clip speed. It's free and works on the web and in the app for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The demo will appear here

Step 1 of 6

Step 1 of 6
  1. On the Balance tab tap “?” in the header — the “Balance and packs” article opens
  2. Tap “‹” — the Help home: “Start here” and “Frequently asked questions”
  3. Type “speed” in “Search help” — sections of every article with the word
  4. Tap the first result — the article opens right at that section
  5. In the editor tap “+” — “How does this work?” at the bottom of the sheet
  6. Tap it — help about tracks opens over the sheet

What's inside

  • Help home — Start here, Frequently asked questions, guide Topics and For developers (API, MCP, security). The “‹” in the Help header takes you home.
  • Search — the Search help field at the top searches all the documentation at once as you type: article titles, sections and text. Tap a result and the article opens at that section.
  • Articles — the same as on the site: steps, “Web” and “iPhone and iPad” tabs (yours is open first), step-by-step demos, tables, code samples. Links to other articles open right there, “‹” goes back.
  • The site — the globe icon in the Help header or Open on the site under an article opens it on docs.slicer.media.

On a phone and on a wide screen

On a phone, help opens full screen; × closes it. On a computer, iPad and Mac it opens as a panel on the right taking almost half of the window, with no dimming: you can read an article and do what it says at the same time. On the web Esc closes it too.

Help opens over sheets: the sheet you opened it from stays in place.

Good to know

  • Help is always up to date: it loads from the documentation when you open it. Offline it won't load — tap Retry when you're back online.
  • Help is in the language of the Slicer interface.
