Retry and stop

How to stop a montage or export, what happens to tokens, why a montage may fail and how to retry it — with the retry price and stage labels.

On this page

A montage, a rebuild, an export and a style change are runs: work on the server that goes through stages (in the app, an export can be rendered on the device itself). While a run is going, you can stop it; if it fails, you can retry it. All of this is in the run card in the project's Media and Settings sections.

The demo will appear here

Step 1 of 6

Step 1 of 6
  1. A project in progress: the “First montage” card, stage “Finding the best moments”
  2. Tap “Stop” — the “Stop working on the video?” sheet and how many tokens come back
  3. Tap “Continue” — the montage goes on
  4. Another project failed: the reason, “Stopped at…” and “Tokens returned to your balance”
  5. Tap “Show stages” — the stages with their times
  6. Tap “Retry” — the retry price under the button

Stopping a run

  1. In the run card, tap Stop.
  2. The Stop working on the video? sheet says what happens: reserved tokens return to your balance, and if the run is on top of a finished reel — The current video stays as it is.
  3. Tap Stop again, or Continue if you changed your mind.

A stopped first montage gets the Cancelled status; you can retry it.

If a montage fails

A montage or a rebuild may fail — for example, if no speech or usable clips were found in the video. The project then gets the Failed status, and instead of the run card there is a failure card:

  • the kind of work and a clear reason;
  • Stopped at “Rendering” — exactly where;
  • what happened to the tokens: Tokens returned to your balance: 24; the project list shows Tokens refunded;
  • Show stages — the stages with their times.

Retry

Tap Retry. A retry continues from the stage where the run stopped — finished stages are not redone. Under the button is the price:

  • Retry is free — if a free run failed (for example, the free first reel);
  • Retry costs tokens: 24 — retrying a paid montage or rebuild costs the same as the run itself, since the tokens for the failed one were returned.

If an export or style change fails

An export and a style change work on top of the finished reel, so a failure does not spoil it. The project stays Ready with the previous video and editor, and a notice appears above the sections, for example “Export from the editor: failed”, with The video stays as it was, no tokens were charged. The Export again button opens the export window.

Stage labels

  • not needed — the stage was not needed in this run, for example Voiceover with the AI voiceover off. It costs nothing.
  • simplified — AI was unavailable at this stage or answered only partly, so the stage ran without it: for example, cuts by pauses or a centered frame. If you do not like the result, retry the montage or make a rebuild.
  • Ready from the previous run — stages: 6 — an export, style change or retry reuses the early stages, folded into one line.

Tokens by stage

A paid run has a token column in the card. Tokens are charged for the whole reel, not per stage: next to each stage is its share of the price, by how much of the work it takes. Tokens are charged only when the reel is ready; if it fails, they come back. An export and a style change show Free — no tokens are charged instead of the column.
