Project: media, settings, editor
How the project screen in Slicer works — the header, the “⋯” menu and the three sections Media, Settings and Editor: what is where and what you can do.
On this page
Every reel in Slicer is a project. It opens full screen, above the navigation, and has three sections: Media — everything the reel is made from, Settings — title, style and montage settings, Editor — editing the reel.
The demo will appear here
Step 1 of 5
- A finished project opens in Editor; the header shows the title and “Saved”
- Tap the Media tab — montage media marked “in reel”
- Tap a file — a sheet with a preview and why it got its role
- Tap the Settings tab — title, post text, style
- Tap “⋯” in the header — the project menu
The header
- The ‹ arrow — back to Projects.
- Title and status. During a montage — the stage and percentage; for a finished project — Ready and the duration; for a manual project before its first export — Draft. In the editor the status shows saving: Saved, Saving…, Unsaved changes, Not saved.
- The publications button with a platform logo — if there were publications in the last 24 hours. It opens the Publications sheet (Publishing to social media).
- The chat button — the chat with the director: on a wide screen — Chat with the director while the chat panel is hidden; on a phone — an icon in the Editor section.
- Export and Undo / Redo — in the Editor section.
- “⋯” — the project menu.
The “⋯” menu
- Download (in the app — Save) and Share — the finished reel (Download and share).
- AI effect — an effect from a text prompt on a range of the reel (AI effect from a prompt).
- Export for an editing app — a timeline for Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere or Avid, plus the source files (Export for an editing app).
- Delete project — after confirmation the reel and its media are deleted for good.
Which section opens
A finished project and a manual project's draft open on Editor, others on Media. The section is kept in the page address: after a page reload you stay where you were.
While a montage or export is running, the Media and Settings sections show the run card on top; if the montage failed — a failure card with a Retry button (Retry and stop).
Media
Two tabs: Materials and History.
Materials:
- Montage media — everything you uploaded in the wizard, in order. Each file shows its kind (video, photo, voice-over, music), duration or size and the in reel mark if it is in the current cut.
- Tap a file to open a preview (video, photo or sound) and an explanation: what kind the AI decided it is and why — for example, why an audio file became music rather than a voice-over.
- Added in the editor — your photos, videos and music added after the montage.
- Add — for a finished project: Photos and videos or Music (in the app — from the library and from Files). What you add is available right away in Editor → Media.
7 days after the last work on the reel, the sources are deleted — you will see The source files were deleted after the retention period. The finished reel stays.
History — the reel's versions and a log of all work on it. Details — History and versions.
Settings
- Project: Title (saved when you leave the field or press Enter) and the For posting card — the AI's title, description and hashtags with a Copy button.
- Reel style — My templates, Font, Accent, captions, Sound effects and Intro push-in. They change for free and without AI: Changes show up in the Editor right away. To update the finished video, tap Export.
- Montage settings — emoji, media cards, callouts, camera motion, hook, length, Smart cut and Notes for the director. The AI applies them, so changing them means a rebuild with new settings.
- AI access to files — which project files AI services may open with a temporary link without asking before every operation, plus the Issued links log with a Revoke all links button (AI access to files).
- Delete — Delete project.
Settings of a manual project
An Edit it myself project has had no AI montage yet, so instead of Montage settings there is the Edit with the AI director block: The AI edits a reel from these files with the settings below, then checks and fixes the finished cut itself. The settings in it are the same, and the Edit with the AI director button is visible right away, without changing anything. The montage costs 24 tokens and starts after you confirm in the sheet — see A project without AI.
Editor
A full-width timeline, tools for the selection, and the AI, Elements and Media modes. The editor is available for a finished project and a manual project's draft while the sources are kept. Details — Editor overview.
